Why Do Smart People Make Dumb Decisions?
In a world that valorises intelligence it’s easy to conflate smart minds and sound judgements. And yet we all live in a world where smart people continue to make choices that seem baffling. This session explores why that gap exists. Drawing on insights from social science, it unpacks the hidden biases, blind spots, and pressures that quietly shape our thinking. It examines common kinds of errors and looks at what we can all learn from high-performance environments about designing for better decisions under pressure.
